Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries.
Reducing inequalities and ensuring no one is left behind are integral to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. COVID-19 is not only challenging global health systems but testing our common humanity. “Now is the time to stand by our commitment to leave no one behind,” the UN Secretary-General said.
The Pandemic has put a spotlight on economic inequalities and fragile social safety nets that leave vulnerable communities to bear the brunt of the crisis. At the same time, social, political and economic inequalities have amplified the impacts of the pandemic.
EU Tech Chamber is taking action to reduce inequality and support diversity and equal opportunity such as launching a “Women in Tech” Commission protecting the rights and interests of women and encouraging equal remuneration for women and men. EU Tech advocates such as GetINNOtized are upskilling local community members in Africa to become digital experts and integrate them in their value chain.
Let us make joint efforts and achieve a world with equality, peace and prosperity.
