Groundwater Modeler (m/f/d) – 100 %

The European Technology Chamber is a registered NGO that enables European companies to use their technologies for the benefit of Europe and mankind - following our vision "Technology obliges". As Europe’s leading tech network, we are constantly enlarging our team to serve our network even better.

We are currently building our team and now searching for

Groundwater Modeler (m/f/d) – 100 %

Your mission:

The Groundwater Modeler will be responsible for developing and implementing groundwater models to assess and manage groundwater resources. This role involves utilizing advanced hydrogeological principles and numerical modeling techniques to support decision-making processes related to water resource management and environmental protection.

Your Daily tasks:

  • Conceptually design the model setup based on application cases and available hydrogeological data.

  • Inquiry and analyze publicly available data and measurement data related to groundwater levels and temperatures, aquifer properties, and water quality.

  • Incorporate various data sources, such as geological, hydrogeological, and hydrological data etc., into the setup of groundwater model as its parameterization, initial and boundary conditions.

  • Perform simulations based on the model setup and analyze the simulation results as well as evaluate the fidelity of them.

  • Conduct sensitivity analysis by varying model parameters and identify the uncertainty in model results.

  • Calibrate the groundwater model against measurement data and improve its predictivity and reliability.

  • Present and document model results as reports.

What we are looking for:

  •           Master's or Ph.D. in Hydrogeology, Geoscience, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  •           Proven experience in developing and calibrating groundwater flow models in applications, such as groundwater management at the construction/ mining site, the use of near-surface geothermal energy and interaction between surface water and groundwater.
  •            Proficient in using groundwater modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, or equivalent)
  •           Strong data analysis and interpretation skills

We offer:
