Sustainability Reporting Expert - Hospitality Buildings (m/f/d) - 100% Remote

Your daily tasks:

  • Develop and implement strategies to make hotel industry buildings eco-friendly, incorporating European sustainability standards such as the European Green Building Council (EU GBC) framework.
  • Develop and execute strategies aimed at transforming our buildings into environmentally sustainable structures, aligning with globally recognized sustainability benchmarks such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), and equivalent European standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current building practices and identify areas for improvement to enhance sustainability performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, and facility managers to integrate sustainability principles into building design, construction, and operations.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of sustainability reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, best practices, and regulations in sustainability reporting and green building initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on sustainability practices and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and certification bodies to advance sustainability goals and certifications.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability metrics and report findings to management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource efficiency and minimize environmental impact across our properties.
  • Support the development of corporate sustainability goals and initiatives, aligning with organizational objectives and industry benchmarks.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in sustainability reporting and implementing green building initiatives, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of European sustainability standards and frameworks such as EU GBC, LEED, or BREEAM.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Certification in sustainability reporting or green building standards (e.g., LEED Accredited Professional) is advantageous.
