Environmental and Social Expert (m/f/d) - 100% Remote
Your daily tasks:
- Impact Assessment Preparation: Lead the preparation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) according to standards such as the World Bank's Environmental and Social Standards (ESS) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Environmental and Social Policy (ESP).
- Plan Development: Create and refine Environmental and Social Commitment Plans (ESCP), Management Plans (ESMP), Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEP), Resettlement Action Plans (RAP)/Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRP), and Environmental, Social, Health, and Safety studies (ESHS).
- Monitoring and Compliance: Oversee the monitoring of environmental, social, health, and safety compliance throughout the construction, operation, and decommissioning phases of facilities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with stakeholders to ensure their concerns and inputs are effectively incorporated into project plans.
What we are looking for:
- University degree or equivalent in environmental engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of international/national professional experience in ESIA preparation, focusing on solid waste and water management and infrastructure sectors, particularly in the MENA Region and/or Eastern Europe.
- At least three (3) years of international experience in ESIA preparation.
- Involvement in at least three (3) international/national projects, preferably within the solid waste management sector.
- Proven track record in preparing ESCP, ESMP, SEP, RAP/LRP, and ESHS.
- Experience monitoring environmental, social, health, and safety compliance during facility construction, operation, and decommissioning.
