How can we use policy to build an innovative and human-centered mobility ecosystem?

Mobility is undergoing a transformation and will have a profound impact on the way we live. The mobility ecosystem will consist of innovative channels that anticipate, meet and exceed consumer expectations.

To take a closer look and understand exactly how it can make a difference, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Mobility Alliance organized a webinar on October 18, 2022. The topic under discussion was, “How can we use policy to build an innovative and human-centered mobility ecosystem?”

The webinar started off with a formal introduction of the panelists by Bernd Mattner who is the chair of Mobility Alliance at EU Tech Chamber. Next, we had Serdar Yucel, director of the Mobility Alliance, who gave a short overview of the organization. Last but not the least, we had Sandra Witzel, board member of the Mobility Alliance, who moderated the event and facilitated the panel.

The three honorable panelists who participated in today’s event were, Lina Mosshammer, Co-Founder & CEO at Punkt vor Strich and Co-Founder at Women in Mobility in Austria. The second speaker was Ron Oren, Innovation Policy Advisor at TNO, and lastly, we had Mariel Sousa, Policy Advisor at iRights.

While addressing the webinar, the speakers discussed the insights into what is happening in Vienna/other Austrian cities & Public Transport providers regarding user-centered design and talked about data collection to build up a data platform. Moreover, they also emphasized on the use of foresight to inform policy decisions and how that works in a complex environment like mobility.

The panelists also gave some important recommendations regarding the problem. The key recommendations were integration of more multimobility with bicycles and construction of non-stop public transport projects such as metro and tramways.

We want to thank our respectable speakers for their informed insights on this much-needed topic. Moreover, special thanks to Sandra Witzel and Serdar Yucel for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Mobility Alliance webinar on November 15, 2022, about “What risks in mobility we should understand and manage?”
