Africa Alliance- Logistics in Sustainable Manufacturing in Africa

The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Africa Alliance webinar on “Logistics in Sustainable Manufacturing in Africa” started off with a short overview of the organisation and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo, coordinator of the Africa Alliance.

The panelists for today’s webinar were:

·        Ms. Anne Lawi, Managing Director, Impacc Africa
·        Mr. Bosco Haule, Head of Parts Operations, Africa Global Logistics

The webinar emphasised key characteristics of Sustainable Manufacturing in Africa, including but not limited to, resource efficiency, utilising renewable energy sources, and promoting local sourcing and supply chains. The importance of technology, investment, and adaptability, specifically within the supply chain was a main point of discussion.

It also highlighted eco-friendly technologies, circular economy principles, and social responsibility to address both environmental and social challenges. The key aspect highlighted was, however, policy formulation.

And finally, a panel discussion to answer the participants’ questions concluded the webinar, whereby social and ethical considerations such as job creation, skills development and inclusivity were touched upon.
We want to thank our respectable speakers for their informed insights on this much-needed topic. Moreover, special thanks to Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Africa Alliance webinar on September 20, 2023, on “Competitive energies to power sustainable manufacturing in Africa”
