The robotics industry in China has been enjoying robust development in recent years thanks to the country’s relentless efforts. The output of China’s industrial robots reached 366,000 units in 2021, up 68 percent on a yearly basis.
To address this subject, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) China Alliance organised a much-needed seminar on October 27, 2022. The topic under discussion was, “Robotics Development in China: Trends & Opportunities”.
The webinar started off with an introductory note by Ms. Sierra von Tucher, Chair China Alliance & Executive Board Member EUTECH. Later, a formal introduction of the panelists was given by Mr. Federico Gonzalez de Aledo, Director, China Alliance, who also moderated the event.
The first of the three honorable panelists were Ms. Wendy Cheng, Vice President, Partner at Hermia Business Development Ltd. Then, we had Ms. Sylvia Stocker, CEO & Founder at Arabesque, and last but not the least, we had Ms. Chanfang Wang, Founder at China Expert Services.
The discussion started off with the future prospect of the robotics industry in China. While addressing the webinar, the speakers talked about the use of key technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence in the development of new-generation robots.
Furthermore, they said that the use of robots promotes skilled and unskilled employment opportunities. They also focused on the measures taken by the Chinese government to ensure production of robots and growth of automation in China.
