Capital markets operate local and global economies, help allocate risk and promote financial health and stability. They are crucial to a business’s financial structure and these benefits offer opportunities for companies and individuals to profit.

To address this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Finance Alliance organised a webinar on December 14, 2022. The topic under discussion was, “Capital Markets in Europe: Challenges and Opportunities”.

The webinar was moderated by Ms. Joyce Mariel, coordinator of Finance Alliance, who gave a formal introduction of the panelists and a brief overview of the organization.

The first of the three worthy panelists were Mr. Christian Frahm, CEO at United Fintech. Then, we had Ms. Sharon Siuwei who is a trainer at the Asian Banking School, and last but not the least, we had Mr. Bruno Peetroons, an activist with banking background.

While addressing the webinar, the speakers expressed their valuable views regarding the future of capital markets in Europe and its latest trends in the finance industry. They highlighted some key elements of capital markets in Europe that included technology and innovation and urged the banks to adopt technology to progress in the market.

Moreover, they discussed some opportunities/benefits of the capital markets. Capital markets can help people with ideas become entrepreneurs and even help small businesses transform into giant companies.

The speakers talked about the importance of sustainable financing and mentioned about climate crisis as a huge threat to the future of capital markets in Europe.
