“How can companies integrate sustainability and climate in their work?”

To address this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Environment Alliance organized a webinar on 12-01-2024.

The webinar started off with a short overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Aimal Jehangir who is the coordinator of Environment Alliance.

The webinar commenced with our keynote speaker, Andrea Cantillo, Climate Advisor GoClimate. The other two panelists for the webinar were:
·      Ajit Paul: Co-Founder “Giftolexia Solutions Private Limited”
·      Arend Janssen: Sustainable Finance and Climate Action Expert

Our keynote speaker, Andrea Cantillo, commenced her presentation by delving into the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). She meticulously elucidated the essential steps required for fostering a more sustainable and profitable business. These included calculating the carbon footprint, setting targets, reducing emissions, financing climate projects, and effectively communicating and engaging with stakeholders. Subsequently, Mr. Ajit, our second speaker for the webinar, provided practical examples showcasing how businesses can derive tangible benefits from embracing sustainable practices. He highlighted that companies adopting the climate change adaptation cycle tend to be more resilient in the face of natural disasters.

Shifting the focus to the European perspective of the corporate sustainability directive, Mr. Arend Janssen emphasized the transformative impact of CSRD-generated data on enhancing company processes. He underscored how this data empowers decision-makers to make informed choices regarding company strategy.
