Mobility Alliance -Impact of Sustainable Mobility on Energy Supply & Environment

Sustainable mobility aims to reduce the negative impact of transportation on the environment while meeting the mobility needs of people. It reduces the reliance on fossil fuels, promotes renewable energy, and improves access to transportation for disadvantaged communities, while creating jobs and reducing fuel consumption.

To take a closer look on this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Mobility Alliance organized a webinar on February 21, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “Impact of Sustainable Mobility on Energy Supply & Environment”.

The webinar started off with an opening speech by Bernd Mattner who is the chair of Mobility Alliance. Next, we had Serdar Yucel, director of the Mobility Alliance, who gave a short overview of the organization and moderated the event.

First of the two speakers for today’s webinar was Lasse Kari, Global Energy & Resources Research Lead, Accenture Research. Secondly, we had Raphael Schranz, Circular Economy Expert, Blockchain Investor, Educator and Researcher.

During the webinar, the speakers focused on the significance of sustainable mobility in addressing the challenges of energy supply and the environment, contributing to a more sustainable future for all. Moreover, they made a compelling comparison between the projected amount of clean energy investment in 2022 and the annual average investment required to meet clean energy goals by 2030.

The panelists also talked about the environmental and social benefits of sustainable mobility like reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality, and conserving natural resources. It is pertinent to mention here that by promoting cleaner and more efficient modes of transportation, sustainable mobility can help create a more sustainable future while also improving the quality of life for individuals and communities.

We want to thank our respectable speakers for their informed insights on this much-needed topic. Moreover, special thanks to Bernd Mattner for opening the webinar and Serdar Yucel for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Mobility Alliance webinar on March 21, 2023, about “Technology Transfer and Cultural Transformations for a Human-Centered Mobility”.
