Mobility Alliance – Maas – Understanding Data and Information Needs

The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Mobility Alliance hosted a webinar titled “MaaS – Understanding Data and Information Needs” on November 21, 2023, focusing on the crucial theme of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and the associated challenges and opportunities related to data and information needs. The event provided a platform for industry experts to share insights and perspectives on the intricate landscape of data management in the mobility sector.

The webinar commenced with an opening speech by Bernd Mattner, Chairman of the Mobility Alliance, who provided a brief overview of the organization. Mr. Muhammad Ahad Zaka, coordinator of the Mobility Alliance, introduced the esteemed panelists, each bringing a unique perspective to the discussion.

Throughout the webinar, the panelists delved into the critical aspects of MaaS, focusing on data standards, accessibility, and the imperative to establish uniformity in data availability across both public and private sectors.

Adrià Aguado Lorente emphasized the importance of data standards and accessibility in the context of Mobility as a Service (MaaS), advocating for a unified approach to data management. Dirk Carlier provided comprehensive insights into the commercial aspects of data in the mobility sector, addressing limitations and challenges, and offering a detailed view of the business landscape. Moreover, Hassan Hussin brought a unique perspective by highlighting challenges faced in the global south, particularly in Egypt, adding a valuable dimension to the discussion on MaaS. And lastly, Philipp Merlitz, representing T-Systems, underscored the significance of data accessibility and information exchange, focusing on the technological aspects of managing data in the realm of connected mobility.

The webinar concluded with a productive interaction by the audience, allowing participants to engage with the panelists and gain further insights into the multifaceted issues discussed.
