WIT Alliance -The Social and Environmental Impact of Investment

The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Women in Tech (WiT) Alliance webinar on “The Social and Environmental Impact of Investment” started off with an introductory note and a short overview of the organization by Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo who is a coordinator at EUTECH.

The event was co-moderated by Ms. Rana Ozseker, Board Member of WiT Alliance at the EU Tech Chamber, who gave a brief overview of today’s topic and a formal introduction of the two distinguished panelists.

The first of the two panelists were Ms. Marina Porto, Consultant at The Footprint Firm. The second panelist was Ms. Andrea Mayorga, CEO and Director at Compactob.

The speakers started explaining the importance of social and environmental impact on investment through their real-life experiences. They discussed the rapidly expanding world of social and environmental investing and talked about the best practices for achieving them.

Moreover, the panelists discussed several factors related to social and environmental investing such as energy consumption, climate change, etc. While talking about the challenges, they talked about regulations in Latin America as well as lack of information and measurement.

The panelists emphasized on the idea of women empowerment throughout the webinar encouraging young women to embrace the barriers and speak out for themselves. Promoted by the EUTECH and WiT Alliance, today’s digital talk aimed to empower women.

We want to thank our experienced speakers for their informed insights on this. Moreover, special thanks to Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo and Ms. Rana Ozseker for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions.

Stay tuned for our next WiT Alliance webinar on January 24, 2023, at 9:00 am (CET), about “How to Build a Responsible Metaverse Through WiT?”
