24 February – EU Tech Chamber Smart Cities Council – Topic: The Circular Economy in Smart Cities

The Smart Cities Council, an initiative of the EU Tech Chamber, is designed to fulfill the ever more present need for Urbanization and Connectivity. As more and more people are residing in cities, the cities of tomorrow have to become “smart”. Our councils’ purpose is to connect the relevant innovators and stakeholders share concepts and collaborate.

With cites producing a vast amount of waste and greenhouse gas emissions they are uniquely positioned to drive a global transition into a circular economy. But how can Smart Cities successfully transition from a linear to a circular model? What role do entrepreneurial solutions, technology and citizen responsibility play in this transition? And where lies the responsibility to drive this change?

Our next Digital Panel on Feb. 24th from 9:00 to 10.30 am CET will discuss these topics after a brief introduction of the EU Tech Chamber Chamber by Chairman Florian von Tucher. The talk will be moderated by Laura Preising, Director of the Smart Cities Tech Council.
