Covid-19 led to an increase in impact investing as it exposed inequal impact in society, raising investors’ awareness of systemic risks from climate change, income, wealth and racial inequality. There seems to be an unstoppable trend where investors want to do more by moving from just risk management (ESGs) to taking action (impact investing). In short, investors are ready to sacrifice a small portion of their returns for a significant impact on the environment or society.
