21 July – EU Tech Chamber Africa Chapter – Topic: : New Solutions for Clean Water & Sanitation in Africa

In the best interest of everyone, access to clean water is the basic right of everyone to have a healthy society across the world. In general, in low-income countries and some countries in Africa in particular, sustainable water supply and sanitation are vital for food security, health, survival, societal well-being and economic growth. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), water scarcity affects one in three people in Africa.  As the research shows, every day nearly 783 million people around the world are unable to access clean water, 319 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa are without access to improved reliable drinking water sources. Sub-Saharan Africa is among the regions with the greatest drinking water spending needs, with the greatest investment needs in rural areas.

For the above reasons, similarly, the EU Tech Chamber Africa Chapter facilitates this event to discuss new solutions for clean water & sanitation in Africa through technology to make a real impact. On Wednesday, 21 July at 09:00 – 10:30 o’clock CEST, our keynote speakers will share their extensive experience on how to overcome those challenges by working in collaboration and partnership. Africa Chapter Director Marcus Wiemann will join this talk and give the introductions.
