The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Africa Alliance webinar on “Regionalization and Nearshoring of Trade in Africa” started off with a short overview of the organisation and a formal introduction of the panellists by our moderator, Ms. Silvia Raing’o, coordinator of the Africa Alliance.

The webinar explored the untapped potential of trade in Africa and the nearshoring strategies that would further increase trading activities in Africa. Further, it shed light on Africa’s booming trade landscape and the opportunity it offers to potential and existing investors.

The webinar was successful in uncovering how trade agreements, for example, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement are reshaping the continent’s landscape. The speakers emphasized on how businesses are optimizing their supply chains by moving closer to the African market and also delved into ideas that would increase regionalization and nearshoring activities in Africa.
