In today’s world, the need for effective waste reduction is paramount. As we face environmental challenges and strive for sustainability, the collaborative efforts between the European Union (EU) and the Americas are playing a crucial role.
To learn more about this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Americas Alliance organised a webinar on June 14, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “Effective Waste Reduction by EU-Americas Cooperations”.
The webinar started off with a brief overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Mr. Huascar Cajias who is the coordinator of the Americas Alliance.
The panelists for today’s webinar were:
· Ms. Carla Coluccio Leskow, an expert in waste management & composting,
· Ms. Ivonne Briceño, International Business Incubation Manager,
· Ms. Delfina Frers, Cofounder of BalGreen Media.
During the webinar, the speakers commenced their discussion by providing an overview of environmental laws and the fundamental principles of waste management. They delved into the specific topic of treating green waste resulting from pruning and maintenance activities in urban green spaces.
Additionally, they explored the concept of a circular economy, emphasizing strategies such as waste and pollution elimination, promoting the continual use of products and materials, and regenerating natural systems as key drivers of sustainability.
We want to thank our speakers for their informed insights on today’s topic. Moreover, special thanks to Mr. Huascar Cajias for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.
Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Americas Alliance webinar on July 12, 2023, about “Silicon Valley and Europe: What is the Future?”
