Green Technology, as indicative in the name, is technology designed to have a positive environmental impact by promoting sustainability and addressing various environmental challenges. It encompasses a wide range of fields and industries, including energy, transportation, agriculture, water management, waste reduction, and more. – therefore providing opportunity in a broad sense of the term.

Diving deeper into the topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) APAC Alliance organised a webinar on September 28, 2023, where the themed discussion was, ” Opportunities in APAC Green Technology and Sustainability Markets”.
The webinar started off with a short overview of the organisation and a formal introduction of the speakers by Mr. Muhammad Ahad Zaka who is the coordinator of the APAC Alliance.

The speakers for the day were:
·        Dr. Gustavo Collantes, PhD, Entrepreneur, CEO at LOGIOS Global,
·        Mr. Rafael Navarro, Sustainability Expert, Lead, M&E at Johnson Controls,
·        Mr. Yann Mahieu, Director Sustainable Buildings at Johnson Controls.
The webinar enabled a productive discussion of current market trends and growth prospects in the APAC green technology and sustainability sectors. Energy solutions ranging from ‘Essential’ to ‘Expert’ to ‘HVAC’ were differentiated between and specific ongoing projects and case studies mentioned in terms of industrial sites were energy-saving is being implemented.

Challenges such as government policies and incentives that have the potential to drive sustainability were also highlighted, including the discovery of investment opportunities and innovative technologies that are reshaping the APAC region. Indeed, the landscape of sustainability in the APAC region is evolving rapidly, and addressing these challenges will not only drive economic growth but also pave the way for a more environmentally conscious and prosperous future for all.
