China Alliance: Rise of Chinese Brands: Threat or Opportunity for Europeans?

The growing power and influence of China has raised important and inescapable questions for countries and societies around the world, not just Europe. A rising China offers opportunities for greater cooperation for the world, yet also carries threats for the global markets.

To address this subject, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) China Alliance organised a much-needed seminar on November 24, 2022. The topic under discussion was, “Rise of Chinese Brands: Threat or Opportunity for Europeans?”

The webinar was moderated by Ms. Judith Yong, coordinator of China Alliance, who gave a formal introduction of the panelists and a brief overview of the organization.

The first of the four honorable panelists were Ms. Andrea G, Business Developer at Digiant Global. Then, we had Mr. Andrea Fenn, CEO at Adiacent China, and Ms. Susanne-Kikki Israelsson, Founder/CEO at Newaste AB. Last but not the least, we had Ms. Margaret (陈弘) Chen, Co-Founder of China Spain Innovation & Ventures, CEO of Optimus Horizon.

While addressing the webinar, the speakers discussed the rise of Chinese brands around the world and a change in the Chinese consumers patterns. Some of the changes were:

·        Higher demand for cost-effective quality product that understand consumer needs,
·        More product quality and authentic branding despite origin,
·        Design and quality of products that keep innovating to meet their constantly evolving needs.

Moreover, young Chinese consumers look for brands that are consistent with their values which is becoming a trend for the global markets.

We want to thank our respectable speakers for their informed insights on this much-needed topic. Moreover, special thanks to Ms. Judith Yong for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next China Alliance.
