Investments plummeted and firms struggled to cover working capital as economies collapsed in the first half of 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic led to a sudden decline in small and large-scale business across the world especially in the Europe region.

To address this issue, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Finance Alliance organised a webinar on September 28, 2022. The topic under discussion was, “Post-Covid Business Recovery in Europe: Challenges and Opportunities”.

The webinar started off with a short overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the three panelists by our moderator, Ms. Joyce Mariel who is also the coordinator at the EUTECH Chamber.

The first of our three honorable panelists were Mr. Frank Sieren who is a German Bestseller author, analyst and one of the leading China specialists. Second one in line was Ms. Camila Medrano, Fintech and Business Analytics expert located in Barcelona, Spain. Last but not the least, we had Ms. Mirjana Ivanusa-Bezjak, from Slovenia, a senior lecturer on blockchain technology.

Our keynote speaker, Mr. Frank Sieren, expressed his valuable views regarding the problems in businesses/economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. He also highlighted the challenges companies will face as well as what opportunities still exist for them.

The second speaker was Ms. Camila Medrano who shared insights, with the help of data and graphs, about the Fintech ecosystem and the need of digitalization especially after the pandemic.

Ms. Mirjana Ivanusa-Bejzak also enlightened the audience about the interdisciplinarity between informatics, economy and law, which are the three important components of blockchain technology.
