The world we live in offers infinite opportunities to connect and develop; the speed at which technology evolves is always increasing. However, there are many factors to take into consideration before starting to expand a business internationally.

To address this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) LatAm Alliance organised a webinar on December 14, 2022. The topic under discussion was, ” Global Expansion: How to Effectively Expand your Business?”

The webinar started off with a brief overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the four panelists by our moderator, Mr. Salvatore Cavallaro who is the coordinator of the LatAm Alliance.
The keynote speaker for today’s webinar was Ms. Sandra Sinicco Sanicco, CEO LATAMSCALEUP e GrupoCasa. The other three worthy panelists were Mr. Ian Collins, Director at GTM Global, Mr. Mauricio Cardenas, President at Green Chamber of Commerce and at last, we had Mr. Gonzalo Perez-Taiman, Managing Director at Arpegio.

While addressing the webinar, the speakers compared the innovation ecosystem of Latin America (Brazil) with that of Europe. They urged entrepreneurs and young businessmen (of Brazil) to expand their businesses within the country targeting the 200 million+ market and gradually move towards Europe and/or America.

Moreover, the presenters discussed a few barriers that come along the route to expansion. The first barrier discussed was insufficient knowledge about the global market and unfamiliar cultures of the countries. Another major problem is the language barrier that can be a downfall for some companies wishing to expand their businesses globally.
