To take a closer look on this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Mobility Alliance organized a webinar on May 16, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “Needs of Transport Industry to Become Climate Neutral”.

The webinar started off with an opening speech and a brief overview of the organization by our moderator, Bernd Mattner, who is the chair of Mobility Alliance.

The panelists for today’s webinar were:

·        Maarten van Pel, Project & Change Manager at MvP Improvements,
·        Dr. Srinath Rengarajan (任世睿), Senior Manager Corporate & Product Strategy at Quantron,
·        Massimiliano Claps, Research Director IDC Government Insights and Transportation Lead Analyst in Europe.

During the webinar, the speakers discussed the potential contributions of electrification to the decarbonization of freight mobility, as well as the role that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and autonomous technologies could play in this process.

Furthermore, the speakers recounted their personal journey to Africa and their firsthand experience of traveling in electric vehicles. They emphasized Africa’s immense potential for embracing and rapidly adopting new innovations in the transportation sector. They also highlighted the growing popularity of electric motorbikes in Benin, a country in West Africa.
