Smart Cities Alliance –Society 5.0: Revolutionizing Real Estate and Architecture in the Smart Cities Landscape

In today’s digital age, our cities are undergoing a transformation unlike any other in history. We are witnessing the emergence of smart cities, where cutting-edge technologies and innovative architectural designs are reshaping the way we live, work, and interact with our urban environments.
To learn more, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Smart Cities Alliance organised a webinar on September 05, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “Society 5.0: Revolutionizing Real Estate and Architecture in the Smart Cities Landscape”.

During this webinar, the intention was to explore the dynamic intersection of real estate, architecture, and the evolving concept of Society 5.0, where connectivity, sustainability, and human-centric design converge to create smarter, more resilient cities.

The webinar started off with a short overview of the organisation and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Mr. Salman Tariq who is a coordinator at the EU Tech Chamber.

The panelists for today were:
·        Mr. Nikola Maksimcuk, Co-Founder at @City Gecko
·        Ms. Agnes Okoh, Architect, Project Coordinator at Carifika Inc.
·        Ms. Asmae Ben Bahida, Founder & CEO, Digital Transformation / BIM Expert, Smart Cities / Blockchain Consultant, Speaker, Trainer

During the webinar, our speakers discussed the notion of Smart Cities, diving deeper into subjects of sustainable urban housing and community development. This included addressing challenges of various communities and how initiatives by themselves would serve as good solutions.

They also explored the overarching concept of Society 5.0 and its challenges such as rapid urbanisation, climate change and resource depletion. Smart Cities depend on technology, and this needs to be leveraged by using a data-driven approach to development, architecture, and infrastructure. This prioritisation of sustainability would be a great place for the real-estate industry. Not to mention, in order to enhance quality of life.

It is indeed evident that each country and region presents its unique set of challenges, requirements, and focal points, necessitating a comprehensive approach to partnerships and collaboration. In this context, shedding light on the intricacies of real estate and architecture in the context of Society 5.0 and smart city development is vital.
We want to thank our speakers for their informed insights on this topic. Moreover, special thanks to Mr. Salman Tariq for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.
Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Smart Cities Alliance webinar!
