The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Women in Tech (WiT) Alliance webinar on “How to Build a Responsible Metaverse Through WiT?” started off with an introductory note and a short overview of the organization by Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo who is a coordinator at EUTECH.

The event was co-moderated by Mr. Klaus Miserra, Board Member of WiT Alliance at the EU Tech Chamber, who gave a brief overview of today’s topic and a formal introduction of the three distinguished panelists.

The first of the three panelists were Dr. Dr Maxine ROOM CBE, Head of People & Culture at UNYTED Group. Next, we had Dr. Beatrice Bischof, Managing Director at StarClimber, and lastly, we had Ms. Samridhi Shoor, Director at Meta Asset Research Center, and Founder & CEO of Krifin.

While addressing the webinar, the speakers discussed the importance of building a responsible metaverse on the pillars of transparency, accessibility, and equality. They talked about the division of roles within the organizations with women working in the administrative sector while men working on the technology and IT.

This lack of diversity risks the metaverse development, which ends up ensuring gender inequality manifests in the apparently revolutionary technology. The panelists emphasized on the idea of coordination, collaboration, and education to build a pervasive, open, and inclusive metaverse at a global scale.
