WIT Alliance – Tech Development Using AI: Adding Value for Women

The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Women in Tech (WiT) Alliance webinar on “Tech Development using AI: Adding value for women” was hosted and moderated by Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo, Coordinator of the WiT Alliance. She began with an introductory note and a short overview of EU Tech and continued to give a summary of today’s topic and a formal introduction of the distinguished panelists.

The panelists for today’s webinar were:

· Dr. Dr. Monika Sonu, Co-founder at Healthinnovation Toolbox
· Ms. Anne Lawi, Managing Director at Impacc Africa

The webinar aimed to discuss the resources and responsibilities for women in tech today. It was examined how, by leveraging AI-driven solutions, developers, innovators, and organisations now have the opportunity to create technologies that not only cater to the needs of women, but also empower them in unprecedented ways. From healthcare and education to workplace inclusion and safety, AI-powered advancements are fostering a more inclusive and equitable future.

The speakers gave examples with the work they are doing, both in India and Africa respectively. What was highlighted and unanimous was the acknowledgement of the need for the support of various stakeholders and forming partnerships with them – most importantly with the government and likeminded partners in the ecosystem. This is because change does not happen in isolation, but rather, a collaborative approach is needed to empower the people on-ground.

We want to thank our experienced speakers for their valuable contributions. Moreover, special thanks to Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next WiT Alliance webinar on September 26, 2023, about “Ethical Leadership and Management of Women in Tech”.
