Africa Alliance- Pharma & Medical Supplies to Reach Last Mile in Africa
The EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Africa Alliance webinar on “Pharma & Medical Supplies to Reach Last Mile in Africa” started off with a short overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Ms. Svetlana Nyameyo who is the coordinator of the Africa Alliance.
The three experienced panelists for today’s webinar were:
• Mr. Fonome Dieng, Founder & CEO of Ad Lucem Pharma,
• Mr. Prashant Yadav, Affiliate Professor of Technology & Operations Management at INSEAD Africa & Initiative Senior Fellow, Center for Global Development,
• Mr. Haithem Derouiche, CEO of Sama Partners.
While addressing the webinar, the speakers emphasized the significance of attaining good health and wellbeing across the African continent. They underscored the fact that achieving this goal is critical for promoting human development and progress in the region.
Furthermore, the speakers delved into the difficulties associated with achieving good health and wellbeing in Africa and offered recommendations for addressing these challenges. They provided insights on various strategies and actions that could be taken to improve health outcomes across the continent.
The speakers also touched on several challenges that hinder progress towards good health and wellbeing in Africa, including the issues of availability, accessibility, acceptability, and affordability of healthcare services. They elaborated on how these challenges impact the delivery of healthcare and highlighted the need for measures to overcome them.
Lastly, they offered several recommendations to improve healthcare in Africa, including improving data collection and management, rethinking procurement and supply systems, training health workers, increasing budget allocation, upgrading healthcare infrastructure, and strengthening partnerships with local private sectors and international stakeholders.
