Americas Alliance – The Rise of the Latin American Tech Start-ups

Latin America has emerged as a dynamic hub for technology innovation and entrepreneurship. With a rapidly growing ecosystem of tech startups, this region is attracting global attention and investment.

To learn more about this topic, the EU Tech Chamber (EUTECH) Americas Alliance organised a webinar on September 27, 2023. The topic under discussion was, “The Rise of Latin American Tech Startups”.
The webinar started off with a brief overview of the organization and a formal introduction of the panelists by our moderator, Mr. Ali Mustajab Naqvi, who is the coordinator of the Americas Alliance.

The panelists for today’s webinar were:
·        Mr. Francesco Rubino, Strategy Consultant for SMEs, and Innovative Startups,
·        Dr. Ikechi Agbugba, PhD, Global Mentor of Change Award Recipient & Co-founder of AOTA,
·        Mr. Alfred Oliveri, Author, Producer, and Film Director,
·        Dr. Silvia Laura Adduci, Medical Practitioner & Health Sustainability Advocate.

The webinar commenced with a comprehensive exploration of the fundamental drivers of growth. These encompassed several critical facets, including expanding one’s presence within the Global Index, leveraging government support and initiatives, and capitalizing on the opportunities within the region’s burgeoning startup ecosystems.

Furthermore, the speakers delved into the promising prospects within various industries, notably e-commerce, fintech, edtech, and health tech. These sectors were subject to in-depth discussions, shedding light on their growth potential and evolving landscapes.

Sustainability emerged as a pivotal theme during the webinar, with the introduction of a groundbreaking concept – the “green hospital.” The speakers also shared valuable insights concerning various aspects of the green hospital concept, such as enhancing energy efficiency, establishing self-sustaining food production systems, implementing effective waste management practices, and embracing electromobility solutions.

We want to thank our speakers for their informed insights on today’s topic. Moreover, special thanks to Mr. Ali Mustajab Naqvi for moderating the webinar and distributing Tree-Certificates to the panelists.

Above all, sincere thanks to all our attendees – your comments, compliments, and questions. Stay tuned for our next Americas Alliance webinar!
