More than 30,000 patents for artificial intelligence (AI) were filed in China in 2019, an increase of 52.4 percent over the previous year, a new report on China’s AI development showcased. Combing a gigantic amount of data with talent, companies, research and capital to build the world’s leading AI ecosystem, China is on its way to becoming the first global superpower for Artificial Intelligence.

AI has been a strategic technological battleground between the U.S., China and other countries.
